Week 15

Hola a todos! I hope you're all doing well. This week I've received more questions and so I'll just answer those. And if any of you have questions feel free to send them my way.   This week it's rained a ton which has been awesome. The only problem is that the streets just empty as soon as it starts raining but Dominicans have a strong belief that rain=being sick Question time - What part of being a missionary do you enjoy the most? - I love talking to the people and connecting with them. It's also been super cool to see how the gospel has blessed their lives. Also it’s been cool to see how money doesn’t mean happiness. The people here are all very happy even though they are very poor. They are more than willing to help the people next door with whatever they need. For example, not many people have a car and have to walk a long ways to church. There are a few people that walk almost an hour to church. But every morning before church the members with cars drop off th...

Week 14

Saludo! Klk I hope you all are doing well. Not a ton of things have happened this week. Mostly just a lot of walking and talking to people. My dad gave me a few more questions so I'll go ahead and start with those.  1.) Spanish is alright, I can understand gringo Spanish pretty well so that's nice. When Dominicans speak though it's rough. They use very different words and talk fast and say it all wrong haha 2.) We had about 75 people come to church which was really good 3.) We walk and we walk a lot. Villa Altagracia is also on a big hill too. That's fun 4.) and I haven't eaten any weird food, pretty much just rice and beans which is pretty good so I'm good with all that Other than that I don't have too much this week. We're mostly just starting to get to know everyone which has been pretty fun. It's awesome to see the difference between America and here. Not going to lie the people here are a little better. They're all so nice and willing to t...

Hola! I hope you are doing well and having a great week. Miss you all! I got to the Dominican Republic on Tuesday night. Man it is absolutely crazy here. It is nothing like the united states so I don’t know what to compare it to. There's no traffic laws and so traffic is just a free for all. There's also a ton of people on Motos that kinda just do whatever they want haha and they honk a ton there. Honk means hi, bye, I'm here, hurry up and probably a ton of other stuff too. It's awesome. Idk what to write so I'll follow the rubric my dad gave me. My new companion is elder Gray and he's super awesome. He's from Utah and he grew up on a cattle ranch. We like a lot of the same things so that is awesome. My parents said to put my address but I can't cause they don't have any addresses so we're the yellow cement house on one of the main streets up a big hill. I sleep in a bed. The weather is pretty good. It'll just randomly start raining so that...

Hola! hola!!   Alrighty sorry for not writing last week to be honest I just completely forgot. This week was a pretty good week so I'll just give you guys the highlights -I got my visa to the Dominican Republic and I leave tomorrow. I'm super excited for this new opportunity but it's also going to be really sad leaving Albany, I love the branch here and the people in it are so amazing. It'll also be a huge adjustment moving to another country so that'll be hard and the spanish will definitely need to improve hahaha. That's another really cool think that happened this week. This week especially I've noticed my Spanish get exponentially better. It's been really cool. I know that the Gift of tongues is real and that God blesses his missionaries.   -I’m also gonna miss this weather a ton, it's been super foggy every day and that's been super cool. I love the fog a ton and I'll miss that. I'll also miss it being 40 in the mornings cause that...
