Week 12

 Hola! hola!!
Alrighty sorry for not writing last week to be honest I just completely forgot. This week was a pretty good week so I'll just give you guys the highlights
-I got my visa to the Dominican Republic and I leave tomorrow. I'm super excited for this new opportunity but it's also going to be really sad leaving Albany, I love the branch here and the people in it are so amazing. It'll also be a huge adjustment moving to another country so that'll be hard and the spanish will definitely need to improve hahaha.
That's another really cool think that happened this week. This week especially I've noticed my Spanish get exponentially better. It's been really cool. I know that the Gift of tongues is real and that God blesses his missionaries.
-I’m also gonna miss this weather a ton, it's been super foggy every day and that's been super cool. I love the fog a ton and I'll miss that. I'll also miss it being 40 in the mornings cause that was always really nice.
-oh yeah and then there’s Lonnie. He’s this super crazy conspiracy theorist that told all that he belived, something about how we're all part lizard and they're finding angels on Antarctica. Also the war in heaven is about democracy and the United States is an illegal government. And then he also reminded us that things will get violent in the next 2 months and so we should grab our deer rifles and be ready to start protecting ourselves. The way to do it is to stay about 600 meters away and never shoot from the same spot twice. I guess this is good advice. I don't think I've ever met someone with so many close gospel truths only to be so wrong about everything. All in all he was a nice guy just trying to prepare us for the collapse of the world.
-we had spanish Zone conference which was a ton of fun and super enlightening  I learned that when I'm 100 percent obedient I will be blessed—there is no maybe.
-now for the spiritual thought, during conference I really loved president Nelson's last talk, especially when he shared the video. At first I thought that the Jesus in the video was a little odd and different, he seemed a lot more casual that I normally picture Christ and how he is normally portrayed. I wasn't a fan at first but after a lot of reflection a clear and profound thought came to my mind.  The spirit whispered in my head, "he is your brother and best friend"  it all clicked and made sense. How would a brother or best friend act? Christ wouldn't be this stern and distant figure, he would be a friend. He would smile laugh and look at you and say come with me. Come touch the marks in my hands and side. Come know for yourself that I am your savior. I suffered for you. He would smile and talk as a friend would. He would take you in His arms and hold you when you’re sad and cheer you on when you make the game winning shot. I know that Jesus Christ is our best friend and our closest brother. He loves us more than we can imagine and he knows us. He is with us always and he is cheering us on. And when we forget Him, He is at the door knocking, pleading us to open up the door and let Him in. This week I invite you all to look at Jesus Christ as your best friend. I invite you to look for his gentle and loving eyes and to come unto him in whatever way you can. Through scriptures, through music, through service, and though any other way.

I hope you all have an amazing week and I'll let you know how the DR is next week!
