Week 21
Buenos días a todos! Como esta todo? Esperamos que todo este bien con ustedes y sus familias! This week was a great week. We had the baptism of Luxemil on Saturday which was amazing. It is amazing how the Lord will put the people that are ready in your path as long as you are working hard. I remeber about 2 months ago when we found Luxemil. We were walking up a road trying to find people. He was sitting in the side if the road and week walked past him. We then felt prompted to turn around and talk. We ended up giving a Book of Mormon to him and later that night he texted us saying that he had read some of it. He baptism all with a breif promotkng to turn around. I often wonder what would have happened if we had choosen to not turn around. Would the Lord have given us a second chance or would he put the responsibility in to the hands of future missionaries. I'm so thankful for the opportunity we had to teach and baptize Luxemil.
That was definitely the main highlight of the week. All the Dominicans this week were telling how cold it is. It was hilarious they all were bundled up in there puff jackets and hats. The thing is it was only 68⁰. I guess when the normal here is 85⁰. 68⁰ will feel cold.
We also saw a lady driving a moto and then all the sudden she just got hit by another moto that was trying to pass. Luckily she wasn't hurt. The person that hit her didn't stop tho.
What are you doing for Christmas, do you have any plans yet?
- I think we're making ribs. We aren't allowed to leave the house though so it'll
What gospel principle has helped you the most this transfer?
- For the people we have been teaching the gospel principle of faith has definitely helped them the most. For me it has definitely been prayer.
Now time for my spiritual thought, this week I read a poem in a talk by President Monson titled "the bridge builder"
An old man, going a lone highway,
Came at the evening, cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim;
The sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned when safe on the other side
And built a bridge to span the tide.
“Old man,” said a fellow pilgrim near,
“You are wasting strength with building here;
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way;
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide—
Why build you the bridge at the eventide?”
The builder lifted his old gray head:
“Good friend, in the path I have come,” he said,
“There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge forhim.”
I know the formatting is wack but the words are still the same. Jesus Christ has walked the stony dreary path already and had prepared the way. He had build bridges where there are ravins and tunnels where there are mountains. Without Jesus Christ out journey would not be possible but becaus3 of His grace we can return to our Father one again. I know He lives and loves us. I know He walked the stony path so we will never have to walk it alone.
