Jonah's Mission

Hola! Cómo están? I hope all is well, and I am sorry for not sending an email last week, I started it but then forgot to finish and send it. Anyways, here's my last 2 weeks On Sunday, I found out that I was going to get transferred to Las Matas, which is a very small town about 40 minutes from the Haitian border.   I spent most of Monday packing, but we had a service project with Tony, which was a lot of fun. We helped him paint a house, and that all went pretty well.   On Tuesday we spent most of the day saying goodbye to all the members. That was really sad because I had been there for 5 months and they became super good friends. That is one of the hard parts about the mission. You get used to changing really fast.   Wednesday was transfers, so we woke up at 6 and left at 8 for the capital. The guagua driver was not very pleased with how heavy our suitcases were. Once we got to the capital some people helped us off the guagua and told us they could help us get to the ch...

  This week was a good week and I don't have a lot of time because I'm getting transferred! I'll be heading Las Maltas de San Juan which I've heard is a really cool area. Other than that this week has been normal. We did get to the temple which was amazing. The temple truly is a house of God here on earth. I'm very grateful for the peace and quite that we can find there. Thanks going to be all for today cause I got to pack, have a great day!! Elder Jonah Greer

  From 2 weeks ago… Hola! Buenos días! Espero que todo estén bien! This was another pretty good week. The time this transfer has been flying by.  Not too much happened this week, but I'll tell you what did happen.   Our water is still not working, we finally got water in our tank but now there's something stuck in the pipes and so none of the water is working. We have resulted in fetching water with a bucket and rope from our water well. It was fun the first time, but now it's just inconvenient. I'm very thankful for running water.   Some Dominicans do not like to feel like they're wrong, and so when they don't understand, they'll tell us to speak Spanish even tho we are definitely speaking Spanish and they didn't hear us.   Oh, this should probably be at the top, but there was an earthquake this week, and so that was super cool.  It was the first one I've ever experienced, and so it felt so weird.   Hola! Klk! Hope you all are having an awesome week and are doing well. This week was a pretty good week with a few interesting things that happened.  First think is that Chrismel got baptized this week! This was super awesome and it was a super special experience to watch her to take this step in her life. It is a day I will never forget.   We also ran out of water with week and so we haven't had running water for about 3 days. Its been rough and I definitely didnt realize how important running water is in a house. I will be forever grateful for water.  We got to go the the Nobles house this week. They're a family in our branch that live in the states for half the year. Hermano Noble worked for the Kansas city Royals beisball team and so he is a super cool guy.   Hola! Como están? I forgot to send this last week so you guys are going to get a 2 in 1. This week was a pretty good week and so that was good. I officially have 4 months in the DR which is absolutely crazy. It still feels like yesterday that I got here bit it's been super cool to see how fast I've adjusted to everything. It definitely is a miracle  This week we had to take pizza to our zone council which was interesting because carrying 6 boxes of pizza and 2 bags of crazy bread doesn't really work to well in a guagua where they try to put as many people possible on the guagua. It was a very uncomfortable ride.  The rain has started again so almost everyday it'll rain. The Dominicans absolutely hate the rain and they belive if you touch the rain that you are going to the get the "Gripe"(cold). As soon as the rain starts to fall the streets are empty. They also are really nice, every single dominican will invite us Inside if see us in the rain. This is reall...
