Week 25
Buenas días a todos! Yo espero que todo este bien con ustedes and sus familias! This week was a pretty good week and so that's awesome.
I got my new companion on Wednesday, his name is Elder Hansen and he's pretty cool. Hes from utah and he has about a year in the mission. It feels really weird to be comps with someone that is somewhat close in time to me. I like it.
Now that Elder Gray is gone I actually have to learn how to cook. It's been a lot of fun but I definitely have a ways to go.
Elder Hansen taught me that if you put oreos in the freezer they taste a thousand times better. That was true and now I have an addiction to oreos.
We met quite a few people from Haití this week that want to learn and come to church. The only problem is they don't really speak Spanish or english. Most of the time, the people from Haiti know a good amount of english but these ones don't. This has inspired me to start learning Hatian Creole. It's going pretty well.
I've been leading the area and it's been really cool so see that I'm actually fairly proficient in Spanish. It's definitely thanks to the Gift of Tounges, cause I know I'm not that smart.
Me and my comp also found out that's its a lot of fun to play with lighters.
We had Branch councile and when we asked how long it would take the branch president said about 30 mins. It took a little longer than three hours.
This week my spiritual thought is going to be pretty short. While teaching with my new companion we were teaching a lesson about faith. He put a pencil on the table and said, in the scriptures it says we can move montañas with our faith. Can you move this pencil which is way smaller than a mountain with faith. After trying without avail. My comp then taught her that all she had to do was pick up the pencil with her hand and move it. Many times we think that faith doesn't require anything on our part but faith in reality is an action word. It requires something. God has given us the ability to do many things but we need the faith to do them. I know that as we put our faith in God. He will help us do things through our hands and the hands of others.
