Week 35

Buenos días! Cómo están? This week was a crazy week and so that was super awesome

First I got to talk about rubens, Rubens is one of our new Haitian members and he is super awesome. If you don't know 90 percent of the Hatians here are illegal and they have to he careful walking around outside or else they'll get deported. Long story short Rubens loves coming to our English class and after class him and his friend while walking home from class got taken by the police. We got the call and were pretty sad. The next day we decided to go to the police station and ask for him to be freed, sadly they said no and took him off to Haiti. We were pretty sad and we knew that he would come back but we weren't sure when. Well 3 days later we walk past a member's house and Rubens is there!! It was so awesome to see him back haha. (Go to my spiritual thought to see how he got back.)

We teach this English class to help out a member and recently he's been getting like 40 people to the class. It's really fun to teach and he always buys us free stuff.

My comp has had a terrible cough for 2 weeks now and every single Dominican has tried to heal him with a wide array of natural remedies. He still hasn't been healed.

It finally rainnedddd, I've missed the rain so much and so I was very happy to get the rain. It did make all the roads super muddy and the power go off but it was still awesome.

I saw a six fingered man. That was super cool.

We had a baptism!!! Our friend Alejandro was baptized on Friday and so that was super awesome. He had to drive for 4 hours after working all day to get to his baptism and you could tell he was tired but he still was the happiest man ever and I know that he will become an amazing member.

We had exchanges with the ZLs this week and so I guess that was fun. I met a super cool member that had a really cool tazer.

We also had district conference which is like stake conference but for branches. It was really cool and there were a ton of people there. Sadly none of our friends could come because it was in San Juan and a lot of them are hatians so they couldn't get by the border checks.

Spiritual thought

Today i want to talk about the importance of friendship. Our friend Rubens was taken by the police but his friend wasn't because he was wearing church clothes and had a Bible. But his friend, named Jonli knew that Rubens did not know the way back from Haiti and so when the pickup truck filled with all the people going to the border passed by he got on. He chose to go back to Haiti with his friend so he would get back safely. He knew that it would be dangerous and that they would have no food or water. He also knew it was a long walk about 7 hours in the heat without water. He also knew that it would be hard, they had to watch out for police and other dangerous people but still he did it without even hesitating. It was so amazing. He reminds me of the friendship we have with our Savior Jesus Christ. We do not know the way back and so He left His heavenly glory to come and show us. He knew we would suffer and would have pains, so he suffered for every single one of them. He knew it would be hard, so he never leaves our side. I know that He is my best friend and that He loves me. He knows the way back and so He comes with me on every moment. I know He loves all of us,
In the name of Jesus Christ Amen

Have a great week!
