Week 33/34

Holaaaa como están todo? I hope that you all had a great week and that things are good. Not a ton happened this. itight be a little short, but that's okay.

I also keep forgetting to send these to my parents so this will be 2 weeks of my life

All the kids around here have big whips that they go around cracking all the time. I really wanted one, but I wasn't sure how to make one soooo One day, we walked by I kid using one and I just asked to buy it from him. He didn't even blink and eye and said how much will you give me. I said 200 pesos and he said yes. It was a good deal and we both walked away happy and now i have a whip. 

Fast forward 3 days and we're walking at night when a bunch of kids walk up to us. We almost always have kids following us aro8nd so it wasn't unormal. Then all the suden one of the kids goes, " you're the gringo that bought my whip, i have another one if you want" Sadly I didn't have money to buy it so I only have 1 whip. 

On Tuesday we had zone council in San Juan which is about an hour away. It was fun but the drive then was extremely uncomfortable because we were in a tiny old van that sounds like it would blow up any minute. They put 4 people more that there were seats. And I was sitting right ontop of the subwofer for the entire hour so that was annoying. 

Then we have a friend named Rubens and he is from Hati. He's super cool and speaks English and a little bit of Spanish. He is also the nicest person I have ever met. This week I made a deal woth him because I want Hatian money and so I told him I would give him a 5 dollar American bill for Haitian money. He's super excited and so am I. 

Ive been trying to learn how to solve a rubix cube and it has been driving me insane. 

We've also been playing a lot of basket ball but i still haven't gotten go yet. Ism still waiting. 

This week we had the opportunity to meet Yilda, she called out to us on Wednesday and is super interested. She has earned to learn so much that we gave already taught her the first three lessons and she came to church. She's super awesome. 

Week 2

We did not spend a lot of time in our area because of a bunch if stuff we had which was fun but we also weren't able to het a ton done this week. 

We had zone conference this week it was funny because we the calendar said that it would be on Thursday but our zone liders insisted it was on Friday and because we live far away from everyone this is a big deal because we have ti leave a day early to stay in San Juan so we can get a guagua to the conference. Anyways wensday we get a call saying that they were wrong and that we needed to leave right away to get to San Juan. It was crazy. 

I finally got my hatian money. 

Speaking of hatian money we have the opportunity to have an amazing hatian in our branch. He is the nicest guy ever and he speaks English and Creole but not a ton if Spanish. We recently started teaching his friend who Rubens said has "perfect" Spanish. Long story short we taught him 3 lessons before realizing that je doesn't really speak a lot if Spanish. Now we just tell Rubens what ti say and how that he doesn't teach any false doctrine. 

I learned how to solve a pyramid rubix cube

We had this crazy relief society thing thay was so crazy, they went all out for it. Everyone one had to wear yellow or blue. I also had to play the piano so I added sisters in zion to my array of now 2 hymns. 

I had abechuelas con dulce which is just a bean shake which is absolutely disgusting. It's by far the worst thing ive had here. 



This week for my spiritual thought I just want to bare my testimony 

I know that God lives and that he is our Father in Heaven. I know that we are His children and that He loves us with a love that we can not understand. It is a perfect and infinite love. He loves every single one of us, it doesn't matter what is happening in our lives he loves us. I also know that we have a Savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered for our sins and bore our griefs and pains. I know that we are never alone in this world because he knows exactly how we feel. These are not just things that I think but things that I know with all of my heart and I testify and pray that you can feel the love of God in you love every day in the name of Jesus Christ Amen

  I'm not a huge fan of writing emails but apparently people want me to write more. Therefore I am going to default to bulletpoints This was a super awesome awesome week and it had a lot of miracles - I'm starting to really love Oregon. The weather is beautiful and the branch is amazing. I've never seen a more unified branch and I'm honored to be a part of it.  - We got to talk to a very drunk guy who had a really big Bible in Guatemala so that was sweet. We also talked to a guy smoking a cigar that says we should wear baby clothes to protect us so maybe I'll take that into consideration.  - We got to go to the Portland temple with two new converts and this was a super cool experience. Everyone in the branch that could go went and drove the hour to support their fellow members. Week 31/32

Hola! Cómo están? I hope all is well, and I am sorry for not sending an email last week, I started it but then forgot to finish and send it. Anyways, here's my last 2 weeks On Sunday, I found out that I was going to get transferred to Las Matas, which is a very small town about 40 minutes from the Haitian border.   I spent most of Monday packing, but we had a service project with Tony, which was a lot of fun. We helped him paint a house, and that all went pretty well.   On Tuesday we spent most of the day saying goodbye to all the members. That was really sad because I had been there for 5 months and they became super good friends. That is one of the hard parts about the mission. You get used to changing really fast.   Wednesday was transfers, so we woke up at 6 and left at 8 for the capital. The guagua driver was not very pleased with how heavy our suitcases were.
