Week 42/43

 Hey que tal! Como están ustedes! I hope that you all had an amazing week! The last few weeks have been pretty good.


We had transfers, I'll be staying here in las matas for a 3rd transfer but my comp is leaving for the capital and Elder Jones will be my new comp. he's super cool.

On the way home from church 3 of our Haitian friends got taken back to Haiti by border control and so that was rough. On the bright side they are all back so that's good. 

We went to the market last week and a bought a pair of slides for 200 pesos, that was a steal

We had really cool miracles inviting people to church, we decided that we were going to invite everyone and we ended up having a few people just randomly come to church and so that was super cool. 

We had a baptism!! Our friend Julia was baptized after many miracles took place. It truly was a special baptism 

It has been incredibly hot this week and so I'm really hoping some rain will come

There was a huge fire close to our apartment, apparently an office building had an explosion Sunday morning and so all day Sunday the firefighters were fighting the fire. It's still smoking now. 

Other than that not much happened this week. My spiritual thought will be brief but important. Invite everyone. You never know what is happening in their life and we have the opportunity to change their life completely. The gospel of Jesus Christ can change the lives of so many people but first people need to know about it. They need an invitation.

  I'm not a huge fan of writing emails but apparently people want me to write more. Therefore I am going to default to bulletpoints This was a super awesome awesome week and it had a lot of miracles - I'm starting to really love Oregon. The weather is beautiful and the branch is amazing. I've never seen a more unified branch and I'm honored to be a part of it.  - We got to talk to a very drunk guy who had a really big Bible in Guatemala so that was sweet. We also talked to a guy smoking a cigar that says we should wear baby clothes to protect us so maybe I'll take that into consideration.  - We got to go to the Portland temple with two new converts and this was a super cool experience. Everyone in the branch that could go went and drove the hour to support their fellow members. Week 31/32

Hola! Cómo están? I hope all is well, and I am sorry for not sending an email last week, I started it but then forgot to finish and send it. Anyways, here's my last 2 weeks On Sunday, I found out that I was going to get transferred to Las Matas, which is a very small town about 40 minutes from the Haitian border.   I spent most of Monday packing, but we had a service project with Tony, which was a lot of fun. We helped him paint a house, and that all went pretty well.   On Tuesday we spent most of the day saying goodbye to all the members. That was really sad because I had been there for 5 months and they became super good friends. That is one of the hard parts about the mission. You get used to changing really fast.   Wednesday was transfers, so we woke up at 6 and left at 8 for the capital. The guagua driver was not very pleased with how heavy our suitcases were.
