Week 50
Hola! como estan mis amigos! These last 2 weeks have been great with a few highlights here and there
I’m staying in Las Matas for 6 more weeks and i could not be happier. I love the area and the people here.
We had the Allinsons baptism! although this was only "our baptism" because his parents aren't members, it’s been so cool to see his knowledge of the gospel grow. To prepare for his interview he memorized the story of Joseph Smith word for word out of the kids Book of Mormon. I have no doubt that he will be an amazing missionary in 10 years.
Ruebens got his wheelbarrow! The branch was able to provide a new wheelbarrow to Rubens this week. Although this seems like something small this is something that will change his life. The future now is just a little brighter for him. I have never seen a man so excited to work.
I started to carry around candy to give out to the kids. They love it but now every time i walk anywhere I’m expected to have candy. I feel bad for the future missionaries.
The rain started again but luckily stopped about 2 days later, we still get lightning storms every night.
Got to go on an exchange with Elder Crapo. He's a younger missionary and it reminded me about how it was when i started and didn't know any spanish.
We got our new mission president 2 days ago, he's only 40 years old and so I think he will be quite different. we will have to see if he makes any big changes in the mission.
the ATM didn't work this morning so we're running off of about 700 pesos for the next week
Rubens has continued helping us with visits almost every day.
We got invited to attend a hatian church and they want us to give a sermon.
Other than that not much has happened. just here having fun
For my spiritual thought I want to talk about the Book of mormon. This week I finished the Book of mormon. During this read I studied and marked every single page. I know that the book of Mormon is true and that there is no way that it can be a false book. I know that through reading the Book of Mormon you can learn more about the atonement of Jesus Christ and the love that He had for you. I know it's true
Nos Vemos
