Week 53

Hola! Buenos días mis amigos! How are you doing! I apologize for the lack of letters it has been a busy few weeks!

- On Saturday our dear friend rubens was taken by the Guardia( border control) to Haiti. This is extremely difficult for him and we are not sure how he will get back. If you could all pray for him we would appreciate it.
- the work here has been going super well, we had 4 baptisms the last 3 weeks and it has been extremely humbling to see the lord's hand in them. I know that if not for many miracles they wouldn't have happened
- i hit a year-- that was cool but it passed way too fast
- i did an english fast this week as it was honestly so fun.
- for our pday last week we went to a super tiny town called banica, it's right next to the Haitian border and we went and found some caves with a statue of some catholic saint. That was cool. We also saw haiti and it really is brown on their side and green on the other.
- it's been super hot here but we finally got sone rain so hopefully things cool down.
- my comp traced his family history back to an Egyptian Pharoah
- The stupid liquor store next to us has mad non stop music playing all night
- we learned how to cook potatoes with eggs and salami
- our pizza tower hit the celling
- I had a super cool experience on an exchange. I was with a yonger missionary who was super awesome and we had just finished a lesson and we had about 15 minutos before our next lesson. I told the missionary let's try and find someone, thinking in my mind that i really didnt want to find right then and that we would just walk to our next lesson. We walk by a house and a mother and her daughters waved to us very kindly but I didn't stop. We walked down the street quite a ways and i had what i now realize was a very powerful spiritual prompting saying, go talk to them. We turned around and walked back. We talked to them and they were a super nice family but i was confused--they didnt seem very interested. they said they couldn't come to church because the mom worked every sunday. why would the lord give me this prompting if they wouldn't progress. it wasnt untill 3 weeks latter i received my answer. they started to read the folletos and the book of mormon. the mom couldn't come to church but her 2 daughters walked with a new member to church and loved it. They now are progressing. I learned a lot from this experience. primero, listen to the spirit speak to your mind. second, be patient with the lord and he will teach you the why. When i first received the prompting i thought it was thoughts in my head. it seemed like a good idea. I was later taught that this was a prompting and that this family would be blessed because I followed it. Anyway, always follow spiritual promptings!
